Management and Network Services (MNS) is the nation’s leading independent expert in managed care within the skilled nursing environment.
Serving as the link between the payor and the provider, MNS offers a wide range of services, including contracting and credentialing facilities, assisting patient admissions and authorization of skilled stays, and delivering timely and accurate reimbursement. Management and Network Services operates as a full-service, messenger model network of affiliated Skilled Nursing Facility providers holding individual, regional, and national contracts. MNS serves the Skilled Nursing Facility needs of commercial insurers, self-insured networks, third-party administrators, and Medicare and Medicaid contractors in 38 states across the U.S. There are many advantages of the messenger model including one network contract encompassing multiple providers; one provider contract with access to multiple managed care payors; one source for all credentialing needs; and ultimately, a single point of contact between the payors and the skilled nursing service providers.
Mr. Hoffman founded Management and Network Services in 1996, serving as Vice President of Business Development. In 1997, Jon was named President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board. Jon now serves as Chief Executive Officer.
Jon has more than 30 years of long term care experience. Jon began his career in 1983, serving as the business office coordinator for six Volunteers of America nursing facilities in Ohio, with a special focus on accounts receivable and collections. In 1987, Jon was the administrator of Leisure Oaks Convalescent Center in Defiance, Ohio, and in 1990, he was the administrator for Trinity Retirement Community in Beavercreek, Ohio. Jon is a graduate of Wright State University.
Mr. Deeley joined Management and Network Services in 2014 after having served for several years on the MNS Board of Managers. Brian has more than 20 years of experience in strategic planning and development, including stints with two global consultancies as well as corporate development roles within two fortune 500 corporations in the insurance and healthcare arenas. Brian’s specialties include driving growth via new organic initiatives as well as strategic alliances, joint ventures, and acquisitions.
Brian holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and computer science from the University of Notre Dame.
Mrs. Finnegan has been with MNS since its inception in 1996. Becky was appointed Chief Clinical Officer in 2014. She manages the development and implementation of MNS care coordination software, documentation, and communication processes with providers and payors. She conducts educational sessions with insurers, hospital discharge personnel, and nursing facilities. Becky is the Lean facilitator for MNS and oversees process improvement throughout the company.
Prior to joining MNS, Becky worked in acute care as an orthopedic case manager, clinical manager, medical-surgical clinical nurse specialist, nurse quality assurance coordinator and ICU and orthopedic staff nurse.
Becky earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Capital University School of Nursing. She earned her Master of Science with a concentration in nursing administration from The Ohio State University and her MBA from Capital University.
Ms. Tausel joined Management and Network Services in 1999 as a credentialing nurse. In 2002, she was promoted to Director of Network Development and was responsible for building and maintaining skilled nursing facility networks, credentialing all network facilities and addressing all provider quality issues. She also assisted in the development of the Provider Quality Management Policy and Procedure Manual, which enabled MNS to obtain delegated credentialing with national accredited insurance companies.
Heather implemented and developed the Provider Education Department to improve communication and customer service to the MNS providers. In 2010, Heather began working with the payors to build and expand provider networks. In 2014, Heather was named Chief Development Officer.
Heather has more than 16 years of long-term care experience. Prior to MNS, she worked as an account specialist and a nurse consultant for a national long-term care pharmacy. She holds a nursing degree and recently earned her master’s degree in marketing from the University of Phoenix.
Ms. Clemens has been with Management and Network Services since 1998, beginning her employment as Business Operations Specialist. Prior to becoming the Director of Reimbursement and IT Network Administrator, Maria served a variety of different roles with MNS including collections, accounts payable and receivables. In her current role, Maria oversees the reimbursement segment of the organization, which includes all claim payments, billing, collections and customer service. Maria is also responsible for all Information Technology requirements for the organization as well as research and development for MNS’s Information Systems and policy compliance. Additionally, Maria performs numerous vital statistical analyses for the organization. In 2014, Maria was appointed Chief Information Officer and Director of Reimbursement.
Maria has more than 15 years of experience in the long-term care sector of the health care industry focusing on many facets of operations, relationship and financial management. She is a graduate of Ohio Dominican University with a Master’s in Business Administration and a minor in finance.
Mrs. Newcomb has been with Management and Network Services since its inception in 1996. In her role as Director of Finance, she conceived and implemented the centralized billing, accounts receivable, and payable systems for MNS. She has assisted in the development and implementation of the MNS proprietary software utilized for case management, network development and business operations. Rita holds full profit and loss and financial reporting responsibilities. She manages multiple audits throughout the year to ensure that internal policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, are in compliance.
Rita has more than 18 years of experience in billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Northridge (CSUN) where she majored in economics and had a minor in marketing.
Mrs. Jacobs has been with Management and Network Services since its inception in 1996. During her tenure with MNS, Christi has provided expertise in case management, provider compliance, human resources, contracting, relationship management and general business operations. Christi currently manages Human Resources and Provider Compliance for MNS. Her extensive experience in the health care industry brings distinctive insights on how to manage operations in a diversified environment.
Prior to joining MNS, Christi worked for more than 15 years in long-term care pharmacy and dietitian sectors of the health care industry.
Ms. Shandor joined Management and Network Services in 2001. Prior to becoming the Senior Regional Manager for Business Development in 2005, she served as Marketing Analyst and Business Development Manager. She was instrumental in the development of MNS’ operating policies and procedures as well as a comprehensive marketing plan, which contributed to the growth of the company. In 2009, Melissa was promoted to Director of Business Development in which she oversees payor contracting across the country. She is also responsible for obtaining new insurance contracts, building and maintaining relationships with current contracted insurance companies, as well as researching and analyzing health care data.
Melissa has more than 13 years of long term care experience. Prior to MNS, she worked as a financial analyst for a national institutional food service provider. She received her Bachelor of Science in business administration with a major in finance from Youngstown State University.
Mrs. Sylvester has been with MNS since 2007. Voni began her career with MNS as a Case Manager. She was promoted to Senior Team Lead, Care Coordination Manager and is currently Director of Care Coordination. She has been involved with and/or responsible for the development and implementation of the procedures and policies of the Care Coordination Department in a fast changing insurance environment.
Prior to joining MNS, Voni earned her RN at the age of 20. After short term working in a Skilled Nursing Facility and then the VA, Voni found her clinical calling as an Emergency Room nurse. She spent the next 15 years working in the ER, building crisis management skills and a strong clinical knowledge base.
Each year, MNS generously donates thousands of dollars for the betterment of communities, schools, foundations, causes, and associations.
